The revised Senate health care bill is at a stand still right now and with Senator McCain undergoing surgery, it seems like it’s going to take a while before it goes up for a vote in the senate. On Sunday Senator Rand Paul [R-KY] we on the Fox News Sunday program to talk to commentator Chris Wallace about the bill and was asked if Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell has the votes necessary to pass the Bill, to which Senator Rand Paul responded: “No, I believe he does not”.
Here is the Exchange:
Paul is one of the two Republican Senators who publicly do not support the measure, arguing that the bill gives too much subsidy money to healthcare companies in the ObamaCare Programs and in reality he believes it’s a Healthcare Bailout bill.
Senate Majority leader had scheduled a vote this coming week but on Sunday he had to reschedule due to Senator McCain’s recent eye surgery; Fox News reports that McCain will need about a week of recovery after a blood clot was removed near his eye.
Excluding Senator McCain’s vote, McConnel likely couldn’t get the 50 “Yeahs” from the chambers 52 Senators to pass this bill.
The other Republican that opposes this bill is Senator Susan Collins [R-MN] the Sen. disagrees with Vice President Mike Pence’s analysis that the Senate GOP’s health care bill would strengthen Medicaid for the most vulnerable.
she said: “You can’t take more than $700 billion out of the Medicaid program and not think that it’s going to have some kind of effect”.
DO YOU THINK THIS BILL SHOULD BE VOTED ON OR SHOULD OBAMACARE JUST BE REPEALED AND NOT REPLACED?
